The Issue

40% of people released from prison will return within 3 years

Barriers to re-integration:

  • no job/money

  • no place to live

  • no friends or family

  • limited skills

  • unfamiliar community

  • mental health/substance use disorders

  • social stigma

A plan of action developed by local leaders, Dept. of Corrections, Service Providers, Faith Communities, Missoula Interfaith Collaborative and people who have successfully reintegrated.

Be involved:

Individuals – Be a trained advocate, recruit landlords and businesses, advocate on policies.

Businesses & Landlords – Give people a chance to work and be housed.

Congregations – Be educated on being a supportive community.

Therapists – Be training to work with previously incarcerated individuals.

Your action is vital.

Please come and be part of the solution!
